Aschdod und Jerusalem

Autor
Felix Hagemeyer

Aschdod und Jerusalem

Untertitel
Eine archäologische und exegetische Untersuchung zu den Beziehungen von südpalästinischer Küstenebene und judäischem Bergland
Beschreibung

Using Ashdod and Jerusalem as examples, Felix Hagemeyer examines the relations between Judah and the Mediterranean coast of Israel/Palestine based on archaeological finds, extrabiblical and biblical sources. According to the archaeological evidence, cooperative relations predominated, yet the Ashdod texts of the Hebrew Bible mostly oppose the growing entanglements. This work was awarded the Young Talent Award of the Friends of the Saxon Academy of Sciences 2023, the Wolfgang Scheuffler Research Award, the Hanns Lilje Prize 2024 of the Lower Saxony Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Leipzig University Doctoral Prize 2022 in the field of humanities and social sciences.
