Man is in a unique position to change the world in which he lives by himself and thus as a creator to redefine his own existence. There are three ways in which he can use his imagination: creating new knowledge, new artefacts (aesthetical and technical) and new meaning. Heinrich Popitz describes the characteristics of each of these three ways of creativity and explains the prerequisites they have in common.
